DOES INNOVATION EXIST IN THE LIFT INDUSTRY?
You bet it does, and Stertil KONI is at the forefront of
innovative lift designs. A lift design like this only comes
around every 50 years!
Available in 45,000 lb., 55,000 lb., and 77,000 lb. configurations
with lengths from 26 feet, 30 feet, 33 feet, and 48 feet.
This unique and totally new SKYLIFT incorporates the best
features of all pre-existing platform and scissors lifts. The
SKYLIFT has:
Truly clear floor features with no crossbeams or obstructions
between the lifting legs or runways.
Vertical lifting with no posts.
No base frame.
Four independent legs no matter the length of the runways
Inclinometers control the synchronization.
SKYLIFT can be used in tandem configurations. You
can add a 30 foot runway with a 26 foot runway and have them
operate as two separate lifts or one overall lift. All
configurations will be certified.

THE SKYLIFT:
THE MOST EXCITING, INNOVATIVE LIFT DESIGN
TO COME ALONG IN 50 YEARS
In the last fifty years, heavy-duty lifts comprised mainly
two types of lifts: in-ground lifts and mobile lifts. In
ground lifts dominated the heavy-duty lift market between
1950 through the mid 1980’s. Between the mid 1980’s
and today, mobile lifting technology has dominated the
heavy-duty lift market in the United States
Heavy-duty in ground lifts generally consisted of twin ram
lifting systems able to support vehicles with varying capacities
ranging from 36,000 to 50,000 and even 75,000 lbs. The problem
with these particular lifts is that the early generation
did not include safety mechanisms and many if not most of
them leaked hydraulic fluid into the ground, creating contamination
problems.
Mobile lifts were developed in the mid-1980’s to provide
an antidote to the problem of leaking in ground lifts. Mobile
lifts also offered flexibility for the end user insofar as
the lifts required no in ground installation and could be
used to lift any configuration of wheel base—from a
short work truck to a long fire truck. The other advantage
of mobile lifts is that they are portable. They could be
located in any bay and indeed could be used outside, where
climates were conducive to maintaining vehicles outdoors.
In the decade of the 80’s and 90’s four post
drive on lifts and parallelogram lifts were developed. These
drive on platform type lifts afforded the safety of having
a vehicle sit on a runway (similar to the way it rolls on
the highway) but the disadvantages sometimes outweighed the
advantages. The former included crossbeams (fore and aft)
that limited the ability of the mechanic to access certain
working areas under the vehicle. This is especially true
with utility trucks where axles and differentials sometimes
got in the way of the crossbeams. Parallelogram lifts also
offered some disadvantages inasmuch as the nature of a parallelogram
was characterized by an “overhang” as the lift
pivots up and down. The overhand limited shop bay clearance.
What the industry needed was a vertical application heavy
duty platform lift that had no overhang and no crossbeams
to interfere with the movement or access of the technicians
to the important components of the vehicle. In addition,
such a design needed to accommodate the entire varying wheel
base lengths characteristic of today’s vehicles.
Stertil KONI, a manufacturer based in Europe and one of
the foremost leaders in vehicle testing technology, has developed
such new type of lifting technology: the SKYLIFT. The SKYLIFT
consists of unique, patented design features that provide
substantial benefits to the end user.
Truly clear floor features with no crossbeams or obstructions
between the lifting legs or runways.
Vertical lifting with no posts.
No base frame.
Lift can be flush mounted (flat surface) or surface mounted.
Four independent legs no matter the length of the runways
(you can go to 48 feet and still maintain 4 legs)
Inclinometers control the synchronization (no other competitor
uses inclinometers)
SKYLIFT can be used in tandem configurations. You can
add a 30 foot runway with a 26 foot runway and have them
operate as two separate lifts or one overall lift. All
configurations are ALI/ETL certified.
The ability to use rolling jacking beams that allow the operator
to lift the vehicle off the runway so that brakes and wheels
can be serviced.
The lift can be easily moved since it only has four small
base plates.
When you buy lifts from Stertil KONI you have confidence
that you are dealing with a manufacturer you can trust. Stertil
KONI is an active supporter of the Automotive Lift Institute.
In addition, discriminating buyers of heavy duty lifts should
only purchase from manufacturers that meet stringent manufacturing
standards. Toward this end, Stertil KONI is the first manufacturer
in the world to receive ISO-9001 certification. Stertil KONI
takes pride in its manufacturing excellence. All Stertil
KONI heavy duty lifts are designed with protocols in mind
which require 50,000 lifting cycles before the lift goes
into production. In addition, Stertil KONI provides a 25
year parts availability guarantee. Indeed, this is unheard
of in the lifting industry. We guarantee that parts are available
for a period of 25 years after a particular lift model is
no longer in production.
The SKYLIFT is the lift of the future!
Standard Features and Benefits:
- Vertical lifting with NO POSTS!
- No crossbeam fore or aft.
- Locking from floor level with 31 teeth.
- Clear floor access from all sides allows no obstructions
for axle stands, wheel dollies, etc.
- No base frame.
- Minimal horizontal forces with 4 plates and 4
X M16 anchor bolts per foot plate. Minimal concrete
strength required.
- Easily movable.
- Four independent legs provide maximum access
with no tripping hazard and individual synchronization
and weight distribution through inclinometers 1/100 degree.
- The Skylift can be either flush-mounted or surface
mounted. Flush mounted recess is 15.7”.
- Lifting articulated vehicles can be accommodated through
a modular approach by adding 4.12” feet to either
side of the lifting platform thereby extending runway by
8.25 feet. Therefore, with a 33 foot runway, actual runway
length is 41 ¼ feet. Notice that regardless of runway
length the number of legs is 4. NO NEED FOR EXTRA LEGS.
- All rotating axles are manufactured from stainless
steel and come with a 10 year warranty.
Optional Accessories
- JACKING BEAM- 12 ton and 16 ton.
- 24V LOW-VOLTAGE LIGHTING.
- AIR CONNECTION BUILT INTO RUNWAYS.
- 110V ELECTRICAL SOCKETS- Used for trouble
lights and small appliances.
- REMOTE CONTROL- 33 ft. extension to
operate lift from a safe distance.
- EXTRA-LONG DRIVE ON/OFF RAMPS.
- TWO-SPEED LOWERING.
- CONNECTION BIT- Allows various Skylifts
to operate in tandem for extra long lengths, e.g.- 30 ft.
and 33 ft.
